Whilst your RIB or boat is out of the water either during the winter season or permanently being used in transit, it is vitally important to make sure you have the correct trailer suited to the hull shape, the weight and the towing capacity of your vehicle.

Here's a few handy tips:-

Roller Trailers

Suitable for most v shaped hulls and usually easy to launch and recover most boats and RIBs up to 20’ 7m single handedly, especially with roller swing arm setup.

Bunked Trailers

Mainly preferred by Racing boat teams as the load of the boat on the chines is spread over a larger area.

Single or Double Axle

Depending on the size and weight of your boat, generally twin axle will be required with craft in excess of 20’ 7m.

Braked or Non-braked

UK law dictates whether or not a trailer should be braked or not, any gross weight over 750kg will require brakes.

Nose Weight

When setting up the trailer it is important to maintain the correct weight on the tow bar, either too heavy or too light will have an impact on how the trailer tows.
